Title: M31 Andromeda with Perseid M31-V1
Description:
Here is an animation of the Cepeid M31-V1 / M31-V0619 discovered by Edwin Hubble in 1923 with the 100 inch Hooker telescope. The images were taken in December 2023 and January 2025 with the 80mm refractor. I was able to capture a change in brightness. The Cepeid is located just above the center of the image and is faintly marked. This discovery in 1923 made it possible to estimate the distances for the first time ever.

Pure unprocessed stacks in 300% view. Only color calibrated with PI SPCC, brightness adjusted with Linear Fit and stretched normally with histogram transfer. I didn't want any major manipulations to the image.
